
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. There, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league title. Morgan, then 22 years young, was the youngest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, making her the youngest and sixth most prolific athlete in the world to achieve 20 goals in one year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
