Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in film, theater, and TV. Her career began as a theater actress and then appeared in a number of shows on television as well as independent and mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. In 1995, she made her debut in the role of Ariel on stage as Ariel in The Tempest. The actress has appeared in Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. She is most well-known for her work in Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. In her television work, she's been recognized for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's cop drama High Incident.
